MYSTERIOUS PARCEL ARRIVES FROM MOONBEAM ISLAND

There was unusual excitement at Maplewick Post Office this morning when Postmaster Mr Percy Stamp received a carefully wrapped parcel bearing a smudged return mark from Moonbeam Island.

The parcel, tied with brown string and stamped several times more than strictly necessary, arrived shortly after the 9 o’clock collection. Mr Stamp told The Maplewick Herald that he noticed something odd about it almost immediately.

“It was not the weight that bothered me,” said Mr Stamp, adjusting his spectacles. “It was the fact that the parcel appeared to be humming very politely.”

Several local residents gathered outside the Post Office after Waffles, well-known assistant to the Moonbeam Detective Club, refused to stop sniffing the mailbag. Witnesses also reported seeing a tiny moon-shaped mark on the parcel label.

Ms Teri is continuing to investigate whether the delivery is connected to recent rumours of hidden maps, unusual library books, and a certain group of children asking far too many sensible questions.
